About May

A certified member of the Institute of Internal Communications (IoIC) and the Learning & Development Institute (L&DI), as well as a qualified facilitator, founder May Flanagan boasts 13+ years of experience working with organisations.

May understands that although change is an everyday occurrence in every business, effectively communicating big changes can feel like navigating a maze in the dark.

That's why May’s honed her expertise over years of working with global organisations, developing and executing comprehensive communication plans that support change and drive stakeholder engagement.

Using her significant communications experience, change theory (mostly ADKAR and the Kubler-Ross Change Curve), and neuroscience, she tailors her approach to each organisation, depending on their needs.

Examples*:
• Drove successful IT transformation and digital platform rollouts.
• Managed organisational change projects involving workforce risk, mergers & acquisitions (M&A), and restructuring.
• Delivered change communications to address legacy friction from previous M&A activity.
• Developed, negotiated, and executed communication strategies for deskless and unionised workforces.
• Led communications for the pandemic response and the shift to hybrid working models.
• Managed change initiatives, supported AI adoption, and ensured business continuity during critical resourcing periods.

*Note: the above examples are not directly linked to any specific client or previous employer due to NDA restrictions.

Before founding Flanagan Communications in 2021, May developed a global internal communications strategy for over 32,000 employees at Ardagh Group and served as a trusted communications advisor to senior HR stakeholders at Deloitte Ireland.

Her proven track record in delivering results-driven solutions means she’s not just your consultant, but your partner in change.
